The Disjunct’s Tale
May 4, 2021
A story in pictures.
I was a happy young’un, going about my life.
I had just finished grad school.
Then one day, I woke up in this adjunct chain gang.
Still, we thought we were going to be respected educators, shaping America’s future.
Some adjuncts had to take other jobs, like waiting tables.
We begged for classes.
Some adjuncts tried to join a union. Administration was NOT happy.
We never saw them again.
We never measured up, but we toiled away.
God help us if we submitted grades late.
Administration dines on our misery.
